Commonly known as the glowspot cockroach, this is a tropical, burrowing species from Central and South America. It thrives in warm, humid environments and is easy to maintain in captivity when provided with the right conditions.
A secure, well-ventilated terrarium with 5–10 cm of moist substrate (e.g. coconut fibre, leaf litter, and decayed wood) for burrowing. Temperature: 25–30 °C (77–86 °F). Humidity: 70–80%, Feed on a diet of fruit, vegetables, fish flakes, and dry pet food.
